Custom Curriculum and Flexibility

My own custom curriculum includes many different genres of songs! Rock, folk, oldies, classical, jazz, heavy metal, traditional Irish, and blues! I draw from many different styles to effectively teach guitar technique such as improvisation, chordal accompaniment, and music theory. That said, I'm constantly improving upon my curriculum, and I love it when my students bring in music they love! If the song fits your skill level, I'm more than happy to incorporate it into your lesson.

Cost

The current cost of lessons is $30 for a 45 minute lesson and $25 for a half-hour. Check out other places and costs! You will find that my rates are more than fair and below average. I've been teaching for over ten years in the greater Boston area and hold a degree in music education.

Referral Program

If a friend of yours signs up for lessons and takes at least four lessons with me, you will receive a free lesson in addition to your normally scheduled one! Ask me for details or for free business cards to give away.

Attendance/Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your lesson, please give me at LEAST 24 hours notice. If you cancel less than 24 hours before your lesson, you will be charged the cost of the lesson. This policy is very fair (other music schools usually require payment for any cancelled lesson). This does not include sudden sickness or emergencies - these things can happen for both of us. In this case, please try to let me know as soon as you can.

Materials Needed

There are certain materials needed for each lesson such as a guitar, music notebook, tuner, neck strap, and pick. I require students to occasionally purchase a song on their own for home use - it's much easier to learn a song when you can hear the "original" version. Do not steal music; through iTunes you can legally buy individual songs for $1.

Parking, Parents, Pets

If you travel to my studio, please park in visitor parking, which is across from the maroon section of building. Spaces are faintly marked with a 'V'.

Parents are welcome to sit in on the lesson and observe. Alternatively, we are very close to the public library.

We have two cats. If you have allergies let me know so I can put them in another room.
