For years I&#8217;ve listened to the stations on <a href=\"http:\/\/somafm.com\">SomaFM.com<\/a>.  They have lots of commercial-free stations, from indie to dance.  They are listener supported.<\/p>\n<p>My favorite &#8220;coding&#8221; stations are <a href=\"http:\/\/somafm.com\/lush\/\">Lush<\/a>, a mellow electronic station with mostly female vocals; and <a href=\"http:\/\/somafm.com\/groovesalad\/\">Groove Salad<\/a>, a more upbeat instrumental station.<\/p>\n<p>Jill&#8217;s favorite station (and mine when I&#8217;m not coding) is <a href=\"http:\/\/somafm.com\/illstreet\/\">Illinois Street Lounge<\/a>, where we&#8217;ve found a lot of great bachelor pad type music from way back.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I often like to listen to ambient radio in the background when I&#8217;m coding.
