{"id":5949,"date":"2020-02-09T17:13:37","date_gmt":"2020-02-09T22:13:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/theholtsite.com\/blog\/?p=5949"},"modified":"2024-08-05T19:42:24","modified_gmt":"2024-08-06T00:42:24","slug":"winter-archery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theholtsite.com\/blog\/5949\/","title":{"rendered":"Winter Archery"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Like thousands of archers, I&#8217;ve been quite inspired by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BEG-ly9tQGk\">Lars Andersen<\/a>, who has single-handedly revived the art of instinctive speed shooting.  He&#8217;s spent many years developing a technique derived from the Saracen standard of firing three arrows in 1.5 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I don&#8217;t really like the cold, and doing archery in winter is difficult.  So I just set up a living room range \ud83d\ude42  I&#8217;m getting fairly fast but have pretty much destroyed two targets (one was a punching shield Jill got at the dump). Also Lars doesn&#8217;t really explain his techniques that well (I don&#8217;t blame him) so I&#8217;ve had to sort of figure it out by slowing down his videos and trying out different things.  It&#8217;s like learning karate from Bruce Lee movies \ud83d\ude42  The guy moves so fast it&#8217;s nearly impossible to see what he&#8217;s really doing.
