Great Addons Ben Loves

When you use the internet, hopefully you’re using Firefox. It’s an open source, fast, and tweakable browser. Internet Explorer is horrible, and Safari isn’t as extendable (and slower in my testing).

One neat thing about Firefox is the huge community of people who develop addons. You can change the appearance and functionality of your browser very easily.

Here’s a couple I absolutely love:

1) Adblock Plus – This addon blocks ads on the internet. I hate seeing ads everywhere, and this completely eliminates them all. It’s amazing how well it works.

2) Ghostery – Blocks trackers, which are scripts on websites that track where you go and what you visit. I don’t like people harvesting information about me, this addon stops that!

3) Bible Toolbar – I love the ability to search for Bible references online. I am very bad at remembering chapers and verses, so this addon makes it VERY easy for me to search by keyword or passage.

4) Stylish – Enables even more appearance addons to be developed to change appearance. In particular, I use this to clean up YouTube to get rid of all the fluff and just display the video.
