Oat Milk

We were turned on to oat milk from out friends. Yummy stuff! But, tricky to find and somewhat pricey. So, as I was exploring different recipes I stumbled upon one for oat milk! Here ’tis.

Oat Milk

1 cup rolled oats
4 cups water
1+ tsp maple syrup/other sweetener (optional, to taste)

Pour the oats into a big bowl and top with water. Place in the fridge for 24-36 hours. Blend the oats and the soaking water together, then strain the mixture into a jug. Add sweetener if desired.

We just drank ours plain. It was even toddler approved! ANd then I took all the leftover, strained oats and blended them with some milk and banannas for a smoothie. Viva oats!
I also tried it in my cereal… decent, but I added some regular milk to give it a creamier flavor.
