Just watched this movie. Jill and I have also read Fast Food Nation which is about much the same thing – the epedemic of obesity in America and the causes of it. The movie was pretty good, although we could have done without the guy’s girlfriend describing their sex life in detail.
The part about the schools’ connection with the fast food companies would be enough to home school my kids, if I had any. It’s amazing what kids eat for lunch. Also, ever since reading Culture Jam, I have become sensitive to advertisements of any kind (probably overly so – I make Jill mute all the TV commercials now). I could imagine walking into a school and seeing McD. signs and logos and ads everywhere. It’s really not a wonder America is the fattest nation in the world!
