I often like to listen to ambient radio in the background when I’m coding. For years I’ve listened to the stations on SomaFM.com. They have lots of commercial-free stations, from indie to dance. They are listener supported.
My favorite “coding” stations are Lush, a mellow electronic station with mostly female vocals; and Groove Salad, a more upbeat instrumental station.
Jill’s favorite station (and mine when I’m not coding) is Illinois Street Lounge, where we’ve found a lot of great bachelor pad type music from way back.
