Nestin’

Jill and I are consolidating stuff and making room for the newest Holt. Of course, I’m always on the lookout for smaller, more portable geeky things. I’m trading in my Mac Pro for a new iMac to save some space (and because it’s a great-looking machine). I traded in my 8-channel firewire interface for a small 4-channel mixer that doubles as a USB interface for recording. Over the past two years (before we knew about the baby) I’ve consolidated my guitar collection to only three guitars and two cases.

Being a very organized and semi-OCD person, I like order and simplicity while also being a geek. I’m willing to pay extra for smaller, lighter, less obtrusive things.

One thing I can’t consolidate is my bag of wires, adapters, and cables. I’ve discovered that many guys have such a collection just like many have a tool collection. You just never know when you’ll need that XLR to 1/4” cable or RCA adapter, you know?

Here’s a short, silly song I made on my new mixer about Ubu, the Catweasel.
