Being a Kid

Jill and Alice went out tonight, I stayed home and played Legos. Yes, I am a big child. No, I’m not ashamed to play Legos as an adult.

Alice and I played Legos for about an hour today too. I built her a house for her small bunny toys. It’s funny how the girls naturally gravitate toward playing “house” and boys go straight for the weaponry.

Tonight I consolidated my own collection into just a few remnants of my childhood, and gave the rest to Alice (though she probably won’t appreciate the careful arrangement of weapons and armor).

These are my three VIPs. Of course they’re based on Lord of the Rings, and that right there is the best Aragorn and Gandalf in the entire Lego world. There’s Glamdring, Shadowfax, and Narsil! The king guy is pretty generic. But you have to have a king.

My other Lego guys are just a few peons. Their job is to make the VIP’s look really important. Like Patsy in the Holy Grail.

Haha yeah I remember your ‘spy’ pigeon…and I also remember thinking it was bogus even back then that he could basically do whatever he wanted…but alas, you were the oldest and got away with it. 🙂

  6. PS Did you notice the spy pigeon? He’s watching everything you do.

  7. And then became obsessed with Orlando Bloop…

Hehe I still have my ‘main’ guy from our childhood, Legolas! It’s apparent you and Simon liked the books back then, because I asked for a name for my main character and that’s the one you chose for me! Only later when I saw the movie did I realize where the name had come from! 🙂
