We’ve been kinda busy. I mean, Jill’s been kinda busy. I’ve actually had some things to get done, eep! Jill took her campaigners group on her infamous outing, “See the Queen”. You dress up really nice and go out someplace that requires only that you wear shoes and a shirt. It’s really quite fun to do in a group, because you all look outrageously dressed up and everyone looks at you funny. I was with the girls last time, and we went to Dunkin’ Dounuts. Someone came up to us and said, “Are you on the way to an event, or are you just awesome?” Needless to say, our awesomeness spread like a sweet fragrance throughout the donut shop. There are pictures of previous STQ outings on the photo page… not sure if any of last night were taken yet.
I went into Boston last night. Yes, really I did. I, hater of cities, did indeed travel on several underground mechanisms, automobiles, mobile staircases, and electronic lifts in said metropolis. My friend Dan (one of the Fantastic Four I see every Friday at the pub) is moving to Washington, D.C. due to a great job he acquired. This was a send-off for him. I was honored to be there, even if it WAS in Boston. Another of my best buddies, Chip, drove us both in, thankfully. We wound up at the Top of the Hub restaurant, which is quite an expensive place with a great view. We had a rather bad experience with the service and got a discount on our bill. I got only a Guiness, which at $6 was a rather small drink. How I will enjoy my 20 oz. Magners next time we’re at the pub!
Other than all this, I’ve been doing a bunch of mortgage stuff. Probably not as much as our realtor had to do – just things that need to be done to prepare for moving, and making sure that things at the bank are in order for closing.
Ubu remains relatively unaffected by the recent turn of semi-hectic-ness. Stuff just kind of bounces off him.
