Bless-ed October

Very thankful for a great month!

I used to have such a hard time this time of year. I worked full time and when the daylight started to dwindle it did seem to effect me. All the more reason to be thankful for fall 2018! Evident blessings and provision for our family…

Alice had been talking of wanting to get baptized for the last few months. She seemed on the young side, but as she kept on about it we decided to move forward with it. We are part of a home-church community that meets on Thursday night, so on October 11 we invited some family to our meeting, and in the presence of many church brothers and sisters Alice got baptized! Ben shared some words and teaching and confirming, she was prayed over, and I shared this verse from 2 Timothy (JB PHillips):

I thank the God of my forefathers.. as I remember you in my prayers..
I often think of that genuine faith of yours—a faith that first
appeared in your grandmother, [Margery], then in your mother [and Father],
and is now, I am convinced, in you as well. Because you have this faith,
I now remind you to stir up that inner fire which God gave you at your
ordination. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit
of power and love and a sound mind… So never be ashamed of bearing
witness to our Lord!

We did not take any pictures during the baptism, but I did snap this one afterward as we had fellowship and shared Mimi’s cookies! 🙂
